Student Government Association welcomes new executive board, members

The newly elected members of the Franklin Pierce Student Government Association executive board and student body convened for the first time on Wednesday, April 5th.

The outgoing executive board, led by president David Hamilton, conducted the meeting, their final one together, the new executive board will formally take over next week. The old board’s primary order of business in their final meeting was to fill the final position on the incoming board, the parliamentarian.

Sophomore Gianni Pajaron was elected by the SGA to fill the role.

“It’s exciting. After last year I fell in love with this school,” said Pajaron. “I’m really excited for a larger responsibility in SGA.”

Matt Dresselhouse, the outgoing parliamentarian and incoming president said, “All the candidates (for parliamentarian) were very good and would have been very good in the role. “I’m pleased with who the SGA body selected.”

The incoming executive board consists of Dresselhouse as president, Hannah Eldridge as vice-president, Holly Hay as treasurer, Kalyn DaSilva as secretary and Pajaron as parliamentarian.

“They seem to be set up for success. coming off a great year for SGA and they seem to be working well as a team.” said outgoing president David Hamilton, “I have the utmost confidence in them for the upcoming year.”

Dresselhouse said, “I’ve been preparing for a long time. I’m looking forward to integrating Gianni and leading SGA. I think we will have a very successful year.”

Dresselhouse said that his plans for next year include getting a member of SGA to attend the faculty senate as a representative, to keep the flow of improvements by making some small tweaks around campus and potentially to make some policy changes.
