Alumni from both the men’s and women’s hockey team came together as Team Gray and Team Crimson to play in their first alumni hockey game at the Jason Ritchie Ice Arena in Winchendon, Massachusetts on November 4th.

The event brought Franklin Pierce graduates from the 1980’s to most recent years. Tom Cameron, ’85, played in goal for Team Crimson and Matt McCarthy ’11, guarded the net for Team Gray. After a closely contested game, Team Gray came out with the win.

Hayley Arnold, ’16, said, “We had a really great turn out for this event I would love to see more girls come back for the alumni game.” Arnold has played in 98 games and finished third in assists by the end of her senior season. During the 2016-17 season she became an assistant coach for one year.

Michelle Holmes, ’16, said, “It is really fun to have both teams come back to play in a game like this.” Holmes finished her career ranked fifth all time in program history with 31 goals and ranked eighth in points (53).

After the game, alumni and families stayed to cheer on the women’s and men’s ice hockey teams at their games. The Alumni Office along with the Alumni Hockey Committee are excited to keep this tradition going. Next year they are looking to host a women’s match and a men’s match.
