More than 40 people attended the Lip-Sync Battle hosted by the Education Club on Saturday night, which took place in Spagnuolo Hall.

The judges for the event were the Associate Director of Student Involvement Derek Scalia, Education Professor Jacqueline Kelleher, and junior Gianni Pajaron. Performers included members of the audience and some of the Education Club’s own members. Contestants were judged on their ability to follow along with the song and lyrics, enthusiasm, and crowd reactions.

First place was awarded to C.C. Teifer, who sang “Hit Me Baby One More Time” by Britney Spears. Second went to Chinedu Ibiam, with “Poison” by Bell Biv DeVoe, and third place went to Amy Driscoll, who sang “1985” by Bowling for Soup.

“Overall, it definitely went very, very well,” said junior Kaitlyn Mcsweeney, president of the Education Club. “We were very happy with how it came out.”

Participants sang a variety of songs, including “I’ll Make A Man Out of You,” “Careless Whisper,” and “Part Of Your World.” Between performances, Ed Club members passed out a variety of items to the audience, such as candy, bead necklaces, and sunglasses.

This was the first time the Education Club has hosted an event like this. “It was really new for us,” said junior Shaye Kisiel, vice president of the Education Club. “It was a lot of fun to put together.”
